Lifestyle Awnings helps homeowners transform their lifestyle by creating inviting indoor-outdoor spaces. Inspired by the scenery and great climate of our beautiful city, we design long-lasting aluminium structures where memories are made. We create spaces around your needs, whether you’re the entertainer, entrepreneur, flexi-worker or car collector.
As a proudly Capetonian family business, our patio is our favourite room in the house. We love sharing this passion with other homeowners, helping them add value to their homes and create additional living areas. Founded in 2008 and formerly known as Dan-Neil Lifestyle Awnings, our team of experts has built a reputation for their engineering and technical expertise. Everything we create is of the highest standard, making us a popular choice for home owners in many top lifestyle estates around the city.
We work with hand-picked draftsmen and structural engineers that share our work ethic and know our products inside out. They can help you get the right plans and walk them through council for a reasonable fee. Get a building plans guide here.

QUOTE REQUEST
Contact us (phone, WhatsApp, Messenger, website) with some background info and book an appointment.
SITE VISIT
A must before we quote, we assess your site, discuss your requirements and expectations, explore options, make suggestions for design, layout, product options, size, etc
QUOTATION WITH BUILDING PLAN REQUIREMENTS
Each job is different so you’ll receive your quote via email within 48 hours after a site visit. We’ll also attach a building plan pamphlet from the council and partners list, and photos of similar projects.
ACCEPTANCE OF QUOTE & DEPOSIT
A deposit is required to confirm your booking. We’ll then set your installation date for +/-25 working days after receipt of deposit. We’ll be in contact closer to the time to set an exact date.
INSTALLATION
The final installation date is confirmed 7-10 days beforehand. When installation starts, it is weather permitting. Installation is quick and tidy – usually taking around 3 days but depends on the project.

FOUNDER
Neil Bentley
Neil Bentley founded Dan-Neil Lifestyle Awnings with Dan Naidoo in 2008 to help homeowners transform their living areas, boost their property values and enjoy the gorgeous weather South Africa has to offer. Neil is now retired, but this serial entrepreneur still loves to design new products for the home and lifestyle market.
OWNER/MANAGER
Buckley Gouws
Buckley (Neil’s son-in-law) shares Neil’s passion for bespoke, well-designed and expertly installed all-weather structures. He manages Lifestyle Awnings together with a talented team of sales, design, marketing and installation experts. Buckley loves nothing more than to hang out on his covered ‘stoep’ daily – especially enjoying a braai with friends and family.
BRAND AMBASSADOR
Rae Gouws
Rae, Neil’s daughter, is our marketing guru and looks after HR for the business. A real people’s person, she loves making clients’ dreams come true and celebrating everything this beautiful city has to offer. When Rae’s not looking after our loyal team or spreading the word about awnings, she relaxes with a cup of coffee and a good book on her patio – or runs after her very busy Schnauzer puppy.
DESIGN & SALES CONSULTANT
Wayne Koral
Is there anything better than a consultant who loved the product so much, he wanted to be part of the business? Former client Wayne decided to join the Lifestyle Awnings family after renovating his own covered patio area. Now he can’t wait to share his passion with homeowners, architects and designers. In his free time, Wayne enjoys relaxing on his patio with his family till late at night.

Neil Gouws
Neil has a strong familial connection to Lifestyle Awnings, given that he is both Buckley’s son and Neil Bentley’s grandson. His exposure to the product over a long period has allowed him to develop a deep understanding and knowledge of it.
In addition to his work at Lifestyle Awnings, Neil enjoys spending his free time with his family, renovating his home, and exploring the great outdoors in the Cape region.

Premilla Naidoo
Prem, as we lovingly call her, is our saviour for all things admin and workflow related. With her impressive memory and organisational skills, she keeps everyone on her toes and our clients happy and informed at all times. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, family time and connecting with her church community.

Since starting with Lifestyle Awnings a few years ago, Nyasha has worked his way up to team leader. With a keen interest in all things technical, he is now studying electrical engineering part time. We love Nyasha’s great sense of humour and admire his utmost dedication to his work responsibilities and family.
